Irrational Optimism
Growing up, many of us are told to be realistic—to dream within the limits of what the world
believes is possible for us. We are taught that greatness belongs to others, that success is
reserved for those born into the "right" circumstances.
But let me tell you something: Beyoncé was not realistic. Oprah was not realistic. If they had
been, they would not be who they are today.
Irrational optimism is the belief in your own greatness, even when the world tells you or it just looks
unlikely. It’s about defying expectations, shattering limitations, and dreaming so big that
it scares people.
I want kids to embrace irrational optimism because too many are taught to dream small.
They need to know that where you come from does not dictate where you can go. That statistics
don’t define destiny. That believing in the impossible is the first step to making it real.
Be irrationally optimistic. Dream beyond reason. Become the impossible.
